My Students

My students are a spunky bunch of amazing children. They have caring hearts, bright minds, and love to have fun (like all children do). This is my first year teaching! I am loving every second of it!

My fourth graders LOVE to read!

We have been building our classroom library and expanding our range of interests through reading. As a first year teacher, it has been both challenging and exciting to encourage all 27 of my students to love reading and have a desire to read. I strongly believe the Seat Sacks will further excite my students about reading!

My Project

Students will use the Seat Sacks to neatly store their books of interest without damaging them. My students LOVE to read, but are often placing books inside their desks, where corners get bent, covers get torn, and paper back books have no chance of survival.

Having the Seat Sacks will encourage my students to have responsibility for taking care of our classroom books, will provide them more desk space for other classroom materials, and will keep our classroom books from needing to visit the book hospital.

At the beginning of the 2018-2019 school year, I challenged my students to read 30 Chapter books by the end of Fourth Grade. I have 12 of my 27 already over half way to our year end goal!
