Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
A cornucopia of happiness, exceptionalities, & ages is the best way to describe our classroom! We are an inclusion setting where half of the kids are typically developing students and the other half are students with special needs. Some will continue with us next year while others will move on.
Our students with varying exceptionalities are blessed with the opportunity to grow and learn from the other kids in our room.
They interact socially and verbally throughout the day and learn so much academically thanks to the support they give each other. Activities that span from molding simple shapes and letters with play-doh to pretend play in the house area, our kids have taught each other how to be more patient, understanding, and more giving individuals than when they first started. The setting we have in our room provides them all the opportunity to become more well-rounded individuals and ready to be included in the world we live in.
My Project
Technology is everywhere! Kids nowadays know more about technology than adults do. The reality is that in Pre-K we need to find the best way to include hands on work with computers. The scanner provides a multi-use purpose in our class.
Sharing documents and works of art is our goal on a daily basis!
I love to be able and provide parents/families the opportunity to see what their munchkins are up to on a daily basis. Since we are the Pre-K class there are a lot of documents that must be uploaded into the system in order to stay in compliance and so that the students do not lose their services with accommodations. More importantly, I love showing the kids that works of art can be scanned and sent "in the air" to computers and our Promethean screen. Having the Fujitsu ScanSnap in the classroom will help accomplish this goal.
Helping kids feel important is the best thing that can come our of this project! They will be recognized as hands-on creative artists while being able to share their works of art via technology and prints from our color printer in class which is in need of ink cartridges. Please help me in creating more Picasso's in this century!
