Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are caring, sweet, inquisitive and hard workers who love to answer questions and participate in class! They look after each other by helping one another when it is needed. They are responsible children and love to have fun learning. The students in my charge are very smart but lack the basic skills coming into kindergarten. Many of my students did not attend any kind of preschool, so we are basically starting from scratch.

I absolutely love my students!

We love to sing and dance while learning to read at the same time. The students I teach are bound for greatness, because they are always making sure their work is near perfect (to them), even if it means erasing something one million times!

My Project

The days of masks wearing are upon us and it can be daunting. The students, like everyone in our school and school district-wide, are mandated to wear masks to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. The issue? Some of my students still have developing speech and the masks make it really hard to hear their answers. When I ask them to repeat their answer (often more than once), it can cause them to become frustrated and give up answering any questions. Having this microphone will take away some anxiety and make it fun! I believe the Qball will help students with self esteem and want to participate more in class. I will also be very fun!
