Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
This school year I will be teaching second grade. I teach all subjects in the curriculum. My classes are usually comprised of English Learners, special education students, and general education students from low income families.
This summer I wrote a grant through DonorsChoose for a digital camera and my grant was fulfilled! I was so excited to receive this resource for my students. Alas we have a problem! We still need a few more things to use this camera.
In order to use this camera we need AA batteries, a memory card, computer ink, and photo paper. Once we get these materials we will be able to start taking pictures. Although the uses of this camera will be varied, the main reason for this camera is to motivate my students to write. We are participating in a project in which other children from around the world send us blank journals and we return them with pictures and narratives about our school, city, and state.
By supporting our project you will enable our students the full use of our new camera. The students will begin writing to their new friends around the world. They will also use the camera in countless other classroom projects. The possibilities are endless! Thank you for your support with my students.
