Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

Encouraging our students is the dominant message in our school. Being that we serve a diverse and low socio-economic population, this can sometimes be quite the challenge. Fortunately, we focus on technology. Our students learn 21st century skills in the context of their regular subjects. Students complete PowerPoint presentations on weather, research on areas even in more of need than ours (New Orleans to name one area), and our fabulous Christmas Around the World. In order for us to keep their level of interest and their parents, we rely on documentation. From area newspapers, to letters home, we are always printing pictures, newsletters, and more. With the infrastructure in place, all that denies us of this goal is the simple resources. We are asking for some of these simple resources that can help us continue to spread the message, that no matter your background, YOU CAN BE SUCCESSFUL!
