This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
At our charter school, students are receptive to learning a broad array of music topics. The students at my school are very musical. Musical in the sense that they are very rhythmical and appreciate all genres of music. Put simply, the students know how to groove!
In an effort to foster curiosity and learning, scholars delve into many areas of the arts.
We are looking to start a school band and need some band instruments. Getting those band instruments will help make our music program an even better place to foster instrumental growth.
My Project
We are working on putting a school band together. Having those two saxophones will start the process of getting our band started. It will give two fortunate scholars a chance to start learning the saxophone. Our overall goal to include a woodwind and brass section to our school band. With your help, we will get started with putting an instrument in a child's hand; that in turn will help empower each child to better his/her craft and develop their self efficacy. Most importantly, students get the chance to start creating beautiful music as a community; having a tremendous impact on the school and wider community.
