My students come from a high poverty area and many students have parents that are in the military. In spite of their financial situation, my students are geared toward success. They are highly motivated and practice outside of school hours daily. Music is definitely important in their lives and they show it every day with their positive attitudes and the desire to learn.
Our school community provides students the opportunity to reach their highest level of personal well-being and intellectual independence by creating a safe learning environment that empowers students to become responsible and productive as contributing individuals in our ever changing world.
My students are in need of a tenor saxophone to complete the instrumentation in our band. All band music includes the sound of the lower woodwinds and our band needs this instrument to create the music intended by the composers.
The tenor saxophone is a vidal instrument in any band.
Without this instrument the lower tones of the music will not be heard. The tenor saxophone is also very important when our band plays jazz arrangements. Without a tenor saxophone we will not have a successful jazz band and will be unable to compete in our upcoming jazz festival in March.
