Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are beginning to discover their world through the sciences and math. Their questions need answers beyond the traditional worksheets/lectures or outdated videos.
To better understand the world around them, students need hands-on-activities to explore,investigate, and discover.
However, this is not always an easy task when these students attend a Title I school where more often than not, tools are not available.
My students are bright, smart, full of energy, and very inquisitive. Nothing compares to the sparkle in their eyes when suddenly they "discover" something new.
My Project
The hands-on activities science kits will be used to teach students topics such as Force, Motion, and Energy to mention only a few of the many topics taught throughout the year.
Students learn best by doing, and thus experimenting with the science kits is the best way for students to understand complex topics.
Have you ever had your child ask you why the moon is following him/or her? With the aide of the science kits students will experiment and find the answers for themselves. Nothing more gratifying than seeing the sparkle in a child's eye when they discover something new. What an awesome opportunity to show them the wonders of science.
