Offering our music students the chance to succeed is my top priority. We strive daily to make opportunities available for our high school students to further their musical skills and expand their horizons.
Students attending our school have earned recognition at the district, state, regional and national level.
We have alumni working on Broadway, teaching college and public school music, and performing as professionals all over the world. Our music department has a 100+ year history of excellence and we try every day to live up to that legacy. We offer jazz band, two levels of string orchestra and concert band, pep band and marching band. We also have strong choral, guitar, drama and fine arts programs.
My Project
We have a set of metronomes and tuners that are used on a daily basis in Band and Orchestra classes. Unfortunately, I end up spending a fair amount of my own money each year replacing batteries so that these will continue to work.
A set of rechargeable batteries will make our investment in metronomes and tuners last even longer.
Not only those, but other electronic equipment we use in the music class such as portable electric instruments and amplifiers . Modern lithium-ion and NiMH batteries are much more efficient than in the past. Many claim to be useful for 1000+ charges and no degradation after three years of shelf life.
With these batteries as a resource, I can stop worrying about getting another package of batteries so my students can properly tune their instruments.
