Got Flash Drives? My students have no clue what life was like before the invention of an external drive. What did we ever do before tools like flash drives existed to save projects, especially extensive media projects?
My students are Technology Natives and come from diverse socioeconomic families.
Their parents are very involved in their children's education. They are hard-working and want their children to have the best learning experience in school. My students are creative and love to learn. They are motivated learners who are thrilled with hands-on learning, especially technology.
My Project
Our school has a strong commitment to teaching our students 21st century skills, and technology is a big part of achieving our goals. Many of our projects require a computer to create and complete them. In order to turn in these projects to be graded and especially to be shared with other classmates, we are in need of two external drives.
I teach social studies to the entire fifth grade class, about 60 students, and when they try to use their flash drives to present their work, they either don't work on my laptop or they didn't save it correctly.
With these external drives, I can teach my students how to save on these flash drives and assign a certain amount of kids to each one of them to make the saving of a project faster and easier to retrieve to present.
