This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Have you ever seen a wrestler's "cauliflower ear"? Google it! "Cauliflower ear is the result of a direct blow to the outer ear. Blood or other fluids fill the space in between and disrupt normal blood flow."

Having quality headgear prevents wrestlers from having permanent ear damage and allows them to focus on their sport.

Our wrestlers need headgear to protect their ears and prevent ear/head injuries. Wrestlers are required to wear headgear during competition and the cost of headgear is not included in the athlete fees. This will make a difference for students who want to wrestle, but cannot afford the additional cost of headgear.

During the competition, it is difficult to share headgear because of the wrestling schedule. This project gives the wrestling team a set of loaner headgears that wrestlers can use during the season. The team will be able to reuse the headgears every season.
