Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are very young, special needs students. As such, they tend to drop things. We want to protect our iPod Touch devices so that future groups of students will enjoy and use them. Therefore, protective covers are necessary.
My students are 2nd to 5th grade special day class students with moderate to severe disabilities.
They attend Laurel Span School, a K-8 school. The students come from all different backgrounds and have different abilities. Several students are English learners. Most of the students get free or reduced lunch. There is often not much access to technology in the home.
My Project
While the iPod Touch works really well as a device that students can work on individually, I also want the students to be able to share what they are working on with the rest of the class. The iPod connectors will facilitate that. The protective covers are very important for protecting this valuable piece of equipment.
The budget is cut every year and that means that there is no money for investments such as these.
The students deserve the best and latest technology. We also need to protect this investment. That is why it is important to get these materials.
