I teach in a small community full of kids excited to learn. My students are bright and energetic with the capabilities to do many good things in their lives. My students are from a small close-knit rural community that celebrates special events like the Maypole Dance and Pioneer Day. The area of our school is so large that some students need to take a 30-minute bus ride every morning.
I joined DonorsChoose because I know so many people that want to help our students and this is a great way for generous people to contribute and help our students.
I have been able to see many teachers and students benefit from the kind acts of donors.

My Project
Some of my students came to me and expressed their concern about how much scratch paper we use in the classroom. I began to keep track of how much paper we used just for practicing math. I was surprised to see that we were using so much paper just to practice math problems.
The Boogie Boards I am asking for will replace the need to use paper in the classroom.
The Boogie Boards last up to 5 years without replacing the batteries.
These Boogie Boards will help my students work in class, save some trees, and introduce more technology to the students.
