My students need long sleeve uniform shirts, sweaters, and pants for the winter. They also need swim trunks for special Olympics training.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Got shirts? Got pants? My students don't. They are comfortable being in their skin, but uncomfortable in their clothes that protect their skin!
My students are special education students that come to school everyday ready to learn and do their best.
However, they lack the necessities to keep them comfortable and focused in school. They come from families that struggle in these troubled economic times. One uniform is all they have. Going to school 5 days a week in the same clothes shouldn't be okay for children.
My Project
Since my school has a dress code being implemented, students are required to wear a navy blue polo shirt and khaki pants. Special Olympic training requires swim trunks. Many of my students only have one shirt or one pair of pants, which may or may not fit. They wear the same clothes each day. Providing students with an extra change of clothes or clothes that actually fit will help them fit in with their peers and look presentable.
Donations will help these students learn that maintaining a certain appearance is necessary in life.
Clothes need to be free of stains and neat when entering society. Also, they will be able to keep warm this winter season.
