Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The students at our school are so special. Our demographic is roughly 85 percent Latino with a high EL population.

Every year I am blown away at the students' desire to learn and absolute respect for their teachers.

These students have gone through more hardships than anyone should ever have to do endure, yet do their best to keep their struggles from effecting their school performance.

They deserve the world and I would like to spend my time as their teacher trying to give that to them.

My Project

I teach in a portable at my school and unfortunately, the A/C is not filtering humidity correctly.

School starts on Monday, and I have slipped on the wet floor, my printer is having trouble printing because the paper is stuck together, and, most upsetting, our classroom library is becoming moldy.

These are books I work hard to purchase for my students each year. I have removed 400+ books from my room to try to salvage them.

This humidifier will help our students be comfortable in their learning environment and save my classroom library books. Please help me continue to foster a love for reading without having to repurchase an entire library.
