My Students

Save our artwork! In my pre-kindergarten classroom my students will be painting daily during center time. Right now we have no where, except the floor, to set our artwork while it is drying.

I teach pre-kindergarten at a moderate poverty level school.

However, because of pre-kindergarten entrance requirements for public school, my class is made up of English language learners, low income families, and children who have a parent actively serving in the military. Pre-kindergarten is vital to my students so that they may have a solid foundation when they become kindergartners.

My Project

Young children have so much pride in their artwork, but it is frustrating when it is messed up or torn before they get it home to show it to mom or dad. The only place for artwork to dry is on the floor in my classroom or in the hall. Many times it gets stepped on and torn by children accidentally. The drying racks I am requesting are perfect for my room since they are red and blue. I have two half day pre-k classes and each one is color coded, red for my morning class and blue for my afternoon class. There are plenty of slots in each drying rack for my students to place their work to dry until it is ready to go home the next day. My students will love taking their dry, intact artwork home to share with their families.

These drying racks will make a difference in my classroom because my students will now have an out of the way place to put their art work until it is dry.

No longer will we have to watch where we walk in the classroom or worry about others stepping on it. Thank you for making this possible!
