My second grade students take great pride in their school and their classroom environment. Our class is brimming with future entrepreneurs, engineers, authors, lawyers, pilots, actors, scientists and beyond. At this age, we are building foundational life skills and setting up our path for a beneficial learning experience.
We need a few things to help our classroom be a successful place.
My students have dreams, goals, and a drive to learn. These young learners can, and will, change the world.
My Project
When we think about a school, we probably imagine desks in straight rows facing the blackboard. However, the world is changing, and so are the needs of our students. Students spend a lot of time sitting in classrooms and bodies are not built for static, uncomfortable seats.
Gone are the days of uncomfortable seats at desks in rows.
Seating options help keep my students focused and motivated while still having fun!
In my classroom, we are taking action and creating change.
Students in my room are given the opportunity to seek inspiration based on their environment. I want to help transition their classroom environment.
I am requesting a variety of seating options to improve the academic life of students by providing a learning environment that will support them in thinking beyond our school walls.
When a child sits on a wobble stool, they are able to direct their natural kinesthetic energy and need for movement in a positive way, because the child on a wobble stool can constantly move their body and maintain balance.
