My students are what keep me in this profession. They are ALL special because they are MY students and each one is an individual. I do my best to give them the love and comfort they need so much while they are with me at school. In my class we have different cultures, various ethnic backgrounds and diverse economic levels. We learn from each other in our busy room. We have recently become a Title 1 school. The students in our school range from 4K to 4th grade (I only teach 4K) and we have a program where older students work with younger students all year long.
The kids in my class are so excited to be here at school!
With our activities, they don't know they are learning. They are usually smiling and having fun while exploring the different projects and materials. I love to watch their faces as they complete something they have been working on that is exciting for them.
I make tons and tons of materials for my students. I print them out, cut them out, laminate them, and cut them out again. It takes a great amount of time and, to be honest, it wears out my hand muscles and they are sore for days. It is cheaper than buying the materials though. With this Scan N Cut machine, I can make materials in a shorter time frame, as well as share it with other teachers in my building to save their hands as well.
The benefit to the students is that they get fun materials more often that are durable and student friendly.
In a short time, I can make materials that are individually designed just for a particular student. It comes in handy when there is an odd skill and I don't have any materials to work with. I can just make them and now make them more quickly!
