My students need a classroom that feels like home. They need anchor charts that catch their eye and help them recall information. They need engaging contact with me over the summer so they feel welcome.
The students in my district are predominately low socioeconomic status, receive free/reduced-price breakfasts and lunches, and are English Language Learners. We live in a rural, agriculture-based community.
My students are bright, courageous, and ready to take on the world.
They love to learn and thrive on positive attention. My goal is to help them see their potential while gaining as many educational and life experiences as possible.
We enjoy connecting with others throughout the world,, whether it's via technology or writing to pen pals.
My Project
All the items I am asking for in this project are items I would typically purchase myself, out of my own pocket. However, I can't this year. I want my students next year to still have a welcoming and engaging classroom that is bright and colorful.
I want to continue creating a positive learning environment.
I do this each summer by building relationships with my new students by sending them letters. I also believe a classroom should be well organized, to aid the brain in having less overall stimulation. Organizational items help me create this environment for my students. The tabbed dividers will be going into 3-ring binders that the students are required to provide. These will organize their learning by subject and even help them see their learning progress throughout the year.
Please consider making even a small donation to help my third graders and me out!
