Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our students are motivated, inquisitive and creative. They are ready to take on challenges and explore the world around them.

Many of our students come from bilingual households with over 70% of our population qualifying for free or reduced lunch.

They love hands-on, engaging projects that allow them to think outside of the box. They come to school each day ready to learn and apply their new knowledge. No matter what life is like for our students outside of school, they are eager to succeed.

My Project

This class set of books will enhance our classroom library and open student's eyes to new possibilities. These books will keep students engaged and excited about reading. Many of our students have to overcome multiple obstacles in life to be successful at school. These books will show them examples of strong characters who must do the same.

Through these materials, students will learn about diversity, acceptance, first impressions, and friendship.

These are all valuable lessons that my students need to learn in life!

This particular class set of books will also put them a step ahead in participating in our annual Battle of the Books against another local elementary school. Each student must read 6 books to participate, so this will help move them forward to reach that goal.
