My Students

I am a Speech-Language Pathologist and work with students who have Individualized Education Plans (IEPs). My students have many disabilities ranging from articulation and language delays, cognitive, emotional, and physical impairments. In addition I work with a population of students who have Autism.

Every student can learn, just not on the same day, or in the same way.

My students struggle with noisy classrooms and typical seating arrangements. My students need to be able to relax and move freely as they are working. Students work together in small groups inside my tiny office. Often times students will seek out my office as a place to regroup and reset themselves so that they may reenter the general education classroom ready to do their best work.

My Project

All the students that I provide services to have a disability. They become overwhelmed throughout the day and need a calming place to go. My students have more obstacles to face in their day than their general education peers. I want to provide a space for them that makes them feel safe and secure.

My goal is to turn my office space into something that feels like home!

I would like to have 4 beanbag chairs available for students to utilize during therapy time. When my students enter my office I want to be able to provide flexible seating options that they may chose what will be most comfortable to them.
