My students need way help them refocus their energy throughout the day. The standing desks, wobbly stools, and balance discs will use more gross motor movements to help them focus.
Next year I am returning to 4th grade after a two years teaching 5th grade. I am blessed to have the opportunity to teach a group of 27 diverse 4th graders next year. These students all have varied learning styles and classroom needs. I will have four special needs students joining me next year whose performance and learning styles will benefit from the use of flexible seating choices in the classroom. This is a very active grade level and allowing them the choice of seating will help maximize their learning.
My Project
My classroom is a place where students feel empowered in their learning. A way to help facilitate this environment is with flexible seating. During independent work times, they will be able to choose an option that works for them. Some students need to move constantly and having options for them to stay focused is very important.
Allowing students a choice in their seating allows them to take more ownership in their learning.
I have students who love to stand during lessons and work time. The Sit-Stand Desk Cart will allow them to feel comfortable and help them focus on their learning. The active stools and wobble cushions will allow students to release their energy in order to focus on their learning.
