My students are a bright and brilliant group of young people who are in the process of learning to truly grow through their education and community. My group of students this year are such a unique group of individuals that have been celebrating each others' differences. I am extremely proud of the community that they are building and have seen them grow tremendously.
The school is located in a lower income area in the Silicon Valley.
Most of the students at the school receive free and reduced price lunch. It is a Title I school in East San Jose, California with a high population of English Learners. Although we are lacking many resources, the fighting spirit found within the teachers and students push us further towards our goals.
My Project
Dry erase boards offer many uses in a classroom. Students are able to write their responses to questions and build their own knowledge without wasting paper.
These large dry erase boards are a wonderful tool for allowing the students to work collaboratively in their groups throughout the school day to build up their own and each others understandings.
These larger whiteboards can be used as anchor charts around the room as well. The students will be making their own anchor charts that can be propped up around the room or hung up on the walls. The bonus about these dry erase boards are that they are double sided to double the learning fun. The markers will be used by the students to make their anchor charts visually appealing to them. These are great resources to have to be environmentally friendly while working on group work/teamwork skills.
