Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We are a is a Title I school in southern California where all students receive free meals. I have 27 awesome kindergarten students who are culturally diverse. They are a group of amazing and deserving kids. They are bridging the cultural gap every day as they learn, work, and play together. We are one big family!
My number one goal is to help all my students achieve the skills they need to be successful in school and in life.
To capture their interests, I need resources to help make learning engaging and enjoyable!
My Project
My kindergartners are learning to write and they love it! However, many times I would get papers with no names and having them identify their paper is like asking them to find Waldo! So, the papers are left unidentified and disposed of. As many times as I say, "First thing you do is write your name!" and as many times as they chimed in with me, I get papers with no names. I do not like wasting paper!
Writing is an important skill for my kindergartners but we can do it in a more environment-friendly way!
Since they are practicing writing, I don't need every copy of their work. They can practice on whiteboards and sheet protectors! Best of all, we can save a tree! However, we need more markers!
Please help me provide my students with the tools they need to become writers!
