My Students

My students are a group of nine and ten-year-old students who are excited about learning new things and facing new challenges. Although we are a small district, we have a wonderful school made up of students, parents, teachers and administrators who believe in working together to increase student achievement. We are part of a small district in Arkansas and one hundred percent of our students qualify for free or reduced-price meals.
My Project
My students need a variety of books to build their financial literacy skills. Some of the topics addressed in the books selected are: saving, savings goals, interest, borrowing, and opportunity cost. These books will also allow us to spend time on many standards, including money. Money is a difficult concept for some of my students, and I believe these books will allow each of my students to gain meaningful experiences that can strengthen their current skills. Additionally, by using the books, I predict that my students will be able to work together to strengthen their economic skills through research.
Donating to this project can help me tighten the gaps that some students face.
Funding this project will allow my students to be more actively engaged in Economic lessons. Additionally, my students' lives will be changed for the better by their ability to read, research, and participate in lessons that will build better decision making skills in the real world.
