Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
As a Title One, public charter school, we serve the least affluent in the south county region. Over ninety-four percent of the students are on free or reduced price lunch plans. Many are first-generation U.S. citizens and will be the first in their families to graduate from high school. In 2017 alone. Our students earned over seven hundred career and industry certifications, positioning them for in-demand careers. Additionally, our students earn Advanced Placement and Dual Enrollment credits and our school boasts an outstanding ninety-eight percent graduation rate.
Our mission is to prepare students for work, higher education and to be productive citizenship.
Yet, the disparity of opportunity between the economically advantaged and disadvantaged students in our county leads to future disparities in high-paying, rewarding careers requiring distinct skill sets. At this time, these careers are open only to those who have been educated on the technologies of the future. The need is two-fold: local industries require skilled workers and county residents need stable careers. This initiative fulfills both needs.
My Project
While there are many books that claim to have test prep and practice tests, the reality is that the resources are limited and often outdated. The Albert program license will grant students access to digital content that will prepare them for their exams. Albert Test Prep Program has the answer!
Albert Standard Building School Year License (50 Students) offers up-to-date, digital test preparation for the SAT and ACT.
These exams can be used to meet graduation requirements many of my at-risk students need in order to earn their high school diploma. Without this practice, students will continue to struggle and face not graduating high school.
