My Students

Sandston Elementary’s mission is to empower students to be well rounded, productive citizens who see value in themselves and others and who positively impact their community and world. We believe in setting high academic and behavioral expectations for our students and promoting a positive, safe, and caring community of learners. Our students will acquire the knowledge and skills they need to thrive in the 21st century world, preparing them to be lifelong learners, critical thinkers, and problem solvers.

Sandston is a close-knit community that promotes all students to achieve their best, both academically and in the real world.

We are a Title 1 school in the heart of Sandston, Virginia. Sandston is Henrico’s smallest school with an enrollment of around 200 students. Our students come from a variety of backgrounds. Our Sandston Stars come eager and ready to learn at the beginning of the year! They are excited for all the opportunities a new grade has to offer them. This year will certainly be different for them with the school year starting virtual. Sandston’s fourth grade team would like to be able to provide them something special and unique for them. Materials they can call their own!

My Project

Sandston Elementary students are bright-eyed individuals that find joy in learning. With the start to this school being fully-virtual, the Sandston Elementary Fourth Grade team would like to relieve some of the stress by providing each student a virtual learning supply kit. These kits will provide students with a five-subject notebook (to keep them organized), a pencil box stocked with pencils, highlighters, gluesticks, crayons, markers, dry-erase markers, pencil sharpener, ruler, scissors and headphones.

In providing these materials, families will not have to worry about going to the store to buy these materials during this time.

We know that it will certainly bring smiles to their faces during such a challenging time.
