My students need a sand & water table to practice tactile skills. It will be played with on a daily basis as part of Language Arts rotations. Access to pretend play materials enhances language skills.

My Students
“Play is often talked about as if it were a relief from serious learning. But for children play is serious learning. Play is really the work of childhood.” – Fred Rogers. Transitional Kindergarten is the gift of an extra year of formal schooling where students strengthen oral language development.
My 28 little ones come to school excited for another day of learning.
The wonder and innocence in their eyes brightens my day and pushes me to strive to provide the best I can for them. They will spend the next 8 years on our campus and we want them to feel a part of the family.
My Project
Dramatic Play is an important part of primary education. Children expand their vocabularies through play enriched with hands-on materials. Transitional Kindergarten has a pretend play component where students improve oral language, strengthen social skills, and learn to play together. Students are exposed to the new materials on a weekly basis as part of our daily rotations.
Access to quality pretend play materials will enhance my students oral language development.
Many students do not have access to these types of toys at home. Kindergarten has become so academic that this may be the only year a child can play on a consistent basis.
