Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We have some super preschoolers at our school who are learning how to become a future kindergartners and amazing citizens! Our school serves students who come from poverty, need extra help working on learning a new language or have special needs. We have 16 classrooms at this Early Childhood Center who come from diverse cultures and backgrounds. We house Head Start, Preschool and PPCD. Our neighborhood isn't glamorous, our school once was a high school but it is filled with love.
My Project
We recently created an outdoor learning space full of multiple educational opportunities. Our Sand and Water tables need sand. We have the water, but need the sand. The preschool students need opportunities to not only explore in the sand with their fingers but gather the basics of learning volume and capacity in a fun and inviting outdoor environment. We don't live near a beach and our low-income students don't typically get the opportunities to just get dirty learning. Help us get our student's dirty learning here at school. For fun we are wanting to acquire blue and pink sand. Anyone want to be the donor that helps the students discover what will happen when these two colors intertwine. Help our little ones find out.
Overall, don't worry these kids are 100% washable!
