Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students attend a Title I school where 90% of the students are on free or reduced lunch. The demographics of my school is 65% African American, 34% Hispanic and 1% other races. Our school was affected by Hurricane Harvey and we want to inspire our students to focus on education.

My students are so eager to learn different things and they love hands on learning.

My students are so full of life and I love watching them learn. I know this project will inspire them to learn more about STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math).

My Project

My students will participate in the Samsung Solve for Tomorrow Project. My students want to make a device that will keep kids and the elderly safe. The device will alert police or the guardian of the kid/elderly person. I know we have AMBER and SILVER alerts but we wanted to try to create a device that will assist in keeping people safe so that their loved ones do not have to worry.

We want to try to create a device that will keep the community people safe and it will assist in create a way to decrease kids being lost in stores.

My students will brainstorm and then create and troubleshoot until they have a workable project.
