Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Next year, I will be transitioning back to my roots of teaching fifth grade. This will be the first time I have the chance to teach some of my former students (third graders) for the second time. My fifth graders are eager to become global citizens and learn about the world around them. These thoughtful, curious, inquisitive young scholars and scientists are hungry for learning. They enjoy creative brain breaks, challenging real-world math problems, and critical thinking. Above all, they value being kind and being fair. I have never been prouder of a group of students.
We are a Title I public elementary school in eastern Las Vegas full of kind, thoughtful, inquisitive young learners.
Our inclusion classroom welcomes a plethora of different types of learners and embraces all.
My Project
Next year, I will be returning to teaching fifth grade. I will have the unique opportunity to have my previous third graders in my classroom again and as a result, I need some new materials! Through professional development, I've grown as an educator these past two years and am excited to return to my roots as a fifth grade teacher.
Beyond being excited to teach the novels and academic content that I love, I am thrilled to get to reteach some of my former third graders.
Have the opportunity to be their third and fifth grade teacher is a huge blessing.
Since many of these students have had me before, I am in need of new materials. With a slightly larger class size, I need a few more privacy screens. I am also in need of hands-on language matching activities, supplies for our morning STEAM bins, and math materials. In an effort to reduce paper waste, I am also requesting wipe sheets and a laminated grid chart paper for math instruction.
