My Students

These high school students are eager to learn more about their environment. They are becoming more aware of their role and impact on the biosphere. In rural West Virginia, viewpoints on environmental topics can be somewhat biased. These students are becoming passionate about communicating the truth about climate change.

This next generation of students is becoming avid stewards of the environment.

They realize the difference they can make for the future of our planet, and are eager to step up as individuals from rural Appalachia.

My Project

Our students need a 50 tank to develop into a saltwater fish tank. The students are eager to use this saltwater tank to study the effects of climate change on ocean ecosystems. This will require students to collaborate with their peers to design their own experiments in order to evaluate water quality. Students will consult professionals to learn best practices and solve problems in constructing an efficient saltwater environment.

Student will be able to show the evidence that our oceans are being impacted by climate change.

Given our remote location, this is a way students can create awareness and take responsibly for the future of our oceans.
