My Students
I am the school nurse. I work with Pre-K thru second grade students . Some students have more medical needs than others, however, I manage to get to know most to them well during the year.
As the nurse I realize that I see a different side of these children frequently working with the whole family as well as the child.
Helping families with arranging well child checks, glasses and nutrition needs is a large part of being a school nurse.
My Project
Feeling safe in your environment is huge in how we learn. I believe that having these kits available for staff ( who will be trained to use them ) will make the staff feel more secure and safe and that can't help but make the children feel that way as well.
These kits will be placed in key areas around M.
School. Teachers and staff will know the location of each kit and how to use the materials in them.
It is my hope that if we should have an emergency, that staff armed with these kits and the knowledge to use them will save lives.
