Our school is a separate, public day school which provides a Special Education Program for students who range in age from three to twenty-one years, with mild to severe cognitive deficits and multiple disabilities.
Classes are comprised of pre-school students in the Preschool Educational Programs (PEP-Intensive Needs Class, Beginnings, Classic, and Collaborative), Pre-K, Head Start, as well as school-aged students five to twenty-one years old with severe to profound/multiple disabilities.
Instruction is based on the Voluntary State Curriculum, MCPS General Education Curriculum and/or the Fundamental Life Skills Curriculum.
Our school adheres to the Success for Every Student philosophy to assure that each student maximizes his or her potential. Art, music, physical education, and media/library classes are provided to all of our students.
My Project
Our students with severe and profound disabilities love to play and learn. We need to make sure that our students with medical needs remains safe while learning and exploring throughout the school day.
These large foam mats are perfect for ensuring that our special little friends do not get injured.
These large foam mats come in vibrant and beautiful colors that our students will love. These mats will also help our students to learn the colors. Our students will enjoy walking safely on these green, red, blue, yellow, and pink soft mats. These foam mats make both academic and play time safer for our students with multiple disabilities.
They are also perfect for the school setting since they can be washed easily and stored neatly. The mats’ material is non-toxic and safe for our students with medical needs. The mats are BPA and lead-free! These mats help make the floors of classrooms comfortable for our young learners to play and learn.
