This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I have a group of 120+ instrumental musicians in my school who are amazing, hardworking, and unique individuals. They are from mixed backgrounds, mixed economic levels, and mixed neighborhoods. As we're a specialty program rather than a typical neighborhood school, many of the students only get to see their friends in school so the community aspect of our school is so very strong.
These musicians are hardworking, driven, and hungry to learn.
They push themselves to new levels each year and I am so proud of them. I am honored to work with such strong caring individuals
My Project
Our students love playing their instruments. They unfortunately come across many issues when transporting and storing their instruments. Many of our cases are destroyed beyond repair and many of our strings are breaking due to age.
Your donation will go towards helping students keep their instruments safe and properly working.
We're looking to purchase storage for the violins and violas, cases for many of the instruments, and swabs and strings for woodwind and string instruments.
With these supplies, our students will be less hesitant to bring home their instruments and will live in less fear that the case will fall apart on the bus. You will help build their confidence in their playing and their ability to practice. Thank you for even considering our project!
