My Students

I teach fourth graders who are typically 9 and 10 years old. They love electronics, and learn to love math and reading in my classroom. I had 28 kids for most of last year's school year. Because we live near an Air Force base we often have some transitioning students. I had more boys than girls last year, 1/3 wore glasses, and 1/3 were left-handed!

My kids have varied interests from reading to computer programs to gymnastics or other sports, to hunting, fishing and snow machining!

They are used to leaving and returning to their homes in the dark during the winter. We leave our blinds open all day long to get glimpses of the shortened daylight during the winter, and keep a graph monitoring the down slide in the amount of direct sunlight from the beginning of the year to its rising after December 21 to mid-May.

Part of our personalized learning program is to have kids work on iPads or computers on programs such as IXL. We have also implemented a lot of flexible seating, which the kids really enjoy.

My Project

We need the Belkin storage and charging stations because they have the proper strength to charge our iPads, and provide safe, easy access for the students.

By funding our charging stations you will help us effectively use our iPads daily in our classroom, especially for reading, math, and research.

Storing them in stacks is not good for them, but we have limited space and can't spread them out singly. In addition their cords get tangled, and kids give up and don't plug them in. Consequently they are not always fully charged the next day when we need them.
