I teach 3rd grade at a small southwest Virginia school. Our school is a Title I school in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. Many of my students receive free or reduced price lunch. Many also come from single parent homes, or even live with grandparents. Growing up in this area, I learned firsthand that poverty was a true problem and only you yourself can change your outcome in life. I watch struggling students every day and hope to be able to teach them that they too can work hard and reach any dream!
My Project
We are in need of safe and effective storage space for our classroom Chromebooks! We were very blessed to receive more technology than our space can currently accommodate. I am in a constant worry that an accident will occur in the classroom resulting in technological mayhem!
Thus far, we have been stacking and down-stacking our Chromebooks each day for lack of better storage space!
With the purchase of a Chromebook cart, we can safely lock our Chromebooks away when not in use, as well as keep them from falling as easily. Currently, anytime someone needs his/her specific Chromebook they must unstack until it is found and restack to try to place them back where they go. This is both time-consuming, and very dangerous! If we could be blessed with a cart then my constant fears of technological disaster, as well as storage, and charging stress would be put at ease!
