My Project

In our special education classroom, every child learns and grows in their own unique way. But when big feelings take over, my students need extra support to feel safe, calm, and ready to learn. That’s why I want to create a cozy calm down corner—a space designed just for them. A space where they can breathe, reset, and return ready to learn.

With a calming tent to feel safe, weighted lap bags for comfort, and a sensory lamp to set a soothing atmosphere, students will have the support they need when emotions run high.

Magnetic light-up tiles will give them a creative outlet, turning stress into focus and joy.

This calm down corner will be more than a quiet spot—it will be a safe space where my students practice coping skills, build resilience, and gain the confidence to return to learning. With your support, my students will know they are cared for, understood, and capable of shining their brightest.
