My Students
My students come from diverse backgrounds. We are in a community where many families have lost their jobs and are struggling. I’d like to make the return to school both safe and welcoming for these students.
My students are 5th graders who will be sitting at a desk all day for all subjects.
They will have mask breaks through out the day. My students have a wide range of learning habits. Sitting still all day is going to be quite difficult for these 10 year old children.
They are a kind and hardworking group who will be grateful for your support.
My Project
School is going to look very different than we are used to. To help bring some normalcy to my students I plan on utilizing as many outdoor teaching opportunities as possible. Due to a lack of funds we do not have outdoor seating. These Yoga mats will allow for the students to sit outside and be more comfortable. We will use these for outdoor mask breaks, reading, and learning in a more comfortable setting.
The classroom is desolate with the rug and flexible seating all removed.
It is going to be quite difficult for the students to stay seated at their desks all day for all subjects. I would like to provide the students with an opportunity to sit outside as comfortably as possible.
