Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are eager to get back to the classroom, however we may have to continue remote learning. We are a science classroom and I would like to continue providing the practical applications that go long with STEM activities.
The current plan is to return to school, however this still requires a
method of safety and may include a rotating schedule with some remote teaching. Either way, we need help. My students felt let down and missed some great STEM opportunities for quarter 4 of last school year and I would like to help give them the education they deserve.
My Project
The safety shield is designed to properly perform laboratory experiments safely in any setting, whether that be in my home environment or the school environment. I need a way to perform STEM related demonstrations and continue the educational process.
I don't want to burn my house down but effectively perform some "explosive" experiments.
Also, I need to have a barrier between students and myself for health related situations.
This shield will be used within the home and/or school regardless of Covid-19 and the requirements for teaching.
These materials will help students continue learning through school closures and other scheduling uncertainties related to coronavirus. Items will be delivered to the location chosen by the teacher.
