Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are English learners from low socioeconomic backgrounds. Many of them go home to families that are very busy from working several jobs to make ends meet. Many of them do not have a computer or internet. These kiddos are falling behind with current technology and are in need of support to learn the English language.
My students are in need of albums to create scrapbooks full of their second grade memories!
My school doesn't provide a yearbook for the students. I love having my students create scrapbooks with their memories of what happened in second grade. Now, they need a place to put all their pages in!
My Project
My students need scrapbook albums to keep all their scrapbook pages in. My students will make scrapbook pages in class to record all the amazing things we will do this year, but how will they stay safe?
My students move around a lot and need to have a way to keep their scrapbook pages safe.
Students from the past come back and tell me that they still have their scrapbooks that we made together in class, but I can only imagine the state these scrapbooks are in. With an album to put all their pages in, the scrapbooks will last a lot longer!
