This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Hello everyone. I have the most wonderful children in the world. Our school is in the inner city, and many of my children at their young age I can not image seeing what they have see not only in their neighborhoods but mostly in their own homes. It is so important that when they come to school they feel safe and loved.

Please help me give them a place to go within my classroom where they can go and take a break to work through what is going on in their heads and frustrations.

I am not only a teacher but a Registered Behavioral Technician, I have l learned that giving children a safe place to work through issues help. This couch and tent blocker will give them that space where they will not be disturbed. After 10 minutes I check to see if they are ready to talk and join the rest of the class. When they first came to me in August it was difficult to break down some of the walls to make the children feel safe with me. We had an inflatable couch before but it broke so I decided to get something different. Please help me, by giving them this space.
