My Students
I teach 10th grade English, 12th grade English, a mixed Drama course, and I'm the Student Council Sponsor. My classroom is traditionally extremely interactive. Especially with Student Council. Every group of kids I teach this year is different than years past. They're very sweet, enjoy learning, and love being around each other. They listen attentively, know how to follow my directions, and feel confident enough and comfortable enough to ask questions and learn. They truly are a great group of kids who love their school and will make the world better some day!
My Project
Having a safe, mask free, and flexible way to sit during class is just what these kids need! These kids wear a mask every hour of the day. Our school is not big enough to allow students to safely social distance within the classroom. My goal is to be able to take students outside in lawn chairs where they can complete their work while sitting in a chair and not on the ground. Lawn chairs make it easy for them to put their Chromebooks in their laps and complete work at the same time. Giving the kids a space to work where they don't have to wear a mask and can still be comfortable is going to make a big difference for them. Being outside lets them spread out, breathe in fresh air, complete their work comfortably and take their mask off!
