Clever, joyful, creative, curious, and determined are just a few ways I can describe the students in my classroom. Each child is unique in the way they see the world, learn their information, and how the world around them has been cultivated, but all the students have something in common...eagerness to learn and become stronger in what they know.
I have the pleasure of teaching in a small school in Michigan where our parents are highly involved and their children are eager learners.
First-grade is always full of possibilities. It is where students can begin to see the potential for how strong they actually are, how much they are capable of, and how far they will soar!
My Project
The uncertainty of teaching my students in the classroom or at their homes, made me consider how to make things easier for the parents who might be helping their child succeed in their child's learning, while also helping the students know where the tools are that they'll need to use to do their assignments. These Large Clip Boxes will help us stay organized.
With the pandemic shifting the way students are to learn, I have begun to see my classroom in a different way.
I am visualizing how to individualize student tools to keep them separate from one another's spaces. Knowing we are encouraged to stay in one space, rather than to move around the room, I want to find a good way to organize materials for the students to use during their day. While offering a good way to transport materials home, should we need to shift to remote learning.
