Safe and Efficient Workspace for High School Robotics Team
Help me give my students a sturdy, mobile workspace for some of our larger power tools, with this mobile workbench, students will be able to spread out and work on multiple projects safely and effectively.
The students on The Robotics Team are incredibly dedicated and hardworking. The robotics team offers opportunities for students to engage in hands-on skills such as manufacturing, computer programming, and engineering, as well as fundraising and community outreach experiences. Throughout the year, the students spend hundreds of hours designing, building, and programming the robot for competition.
Over 60% of Washington students come from economically-disadvantaged backgrounds.
Many of the students have very little mechanical or engineering experience when they join the team, so it is fundamental that they have proper tools and support right away.
My Project
Our Robotics Team engages students in the ultimate project-based STEM experience. Students develop and apply skills in math, computer science, physics, and engineering, as well as participating in public relations, budgeting and finance, and community outreach. Since 2014, the team has seen consistent growth in the size and commitment of our team and our achievement at the FIRST Robotics Competition.
We are part of an urban public school and are committed to creating an equitable and non-cost prohibitive program for our students.
Sponsor contributions keep the program active and accessible to all of our student members. Please help us keep our promise to our students and our program growing.
The robotics team frequently works on multiple projects at once. A mobile workstation allows students to use tools safely and effectively. Mobile workstations can be rolled out of the classroom, where the noise and the mess will not disturb others or create physical hazards.
