I am newer to my school where I teach 150 students in the art room. Our school is a historical building in the Cedar Rapids area, as it was built in 1929. While beautiful and stately, it is also dated. We are located in a part of Cedar Rapids that has struggled through flooding and poverty. For some of our students, school is the safest and most stable environment they know. Our students are eager to learn and love coming to school, but are often the last to receive needed tools and materials.
The students in my school are excited about learning in art class and give each project their personal best.
It is so exciting to see them try new art making strategies and sharpen their artistic skills each year.
Using a variety of sizes of paper for art lessons makes learning interesting for students. The current paper cutter in the art room is rusted so that the measurements cannot be read. The cutter arm is wobbly and the blade is dull. Fixing and cleaning a paper cutter is nearly the same cost as a new paper cutter. The cost of a new paper cutter would use nearly all of my art budget for the year.
A high quality paper cutter enables me to quickly and efficiently cut paper for student projects.
I cut paper for art lessons nearly every day. Having the right paper cutter will make this job easy-peasy. Less time struggling with a worn-out paper cutter will allow me more time to plan lessons and support student creativity!
