My Students

Hello! I currently teach 6th-grade leadership, but the event I am planning will be shared among grades 6-8. What I love about my 6th-grade students is that they're warm-hearted, open to learning about new things and experiences and they're super excited about the people they're going to meet from this leadership experience!

Many scholars at our school are in need of positive role models to help show them strategies for persevering through life's challenges and I believe this leadership event will be instrumental in giving kids the extra guidance they need

My Project

Ryan Powell spoke to my kids two years ago via Skype: the impact was powerful!!! Hearing Ryan speak about his commitment to his family during their trials through his mother's brain cancer, what he went through as a professional athlete and how he has gone on to be inspired to become a film producer was extremely motivational for the kids. Many of them were wishing they could meet him, and with support from DonorsChoose.org, that wish can finally become their reality!! I've got Ryan already booked for his flight, and he has a place to stay so all I need now is his speak fees for the Oct 24th date.
