Running Towards Our Dreams: Training for the L.A. Marathon
My students need a 21 T-shirts in various sizes for a team uniform for their participation in the the school marathon club.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Imagine being part of a team with no uniform. We are fortunate to have students want to be part of something special, a Marathon team! They work hard all day and stay after school to run; rain or shine they are out there. What better way to show off their pride than a Team Uniform.
Our school is located in one of the toughest inner city locations around.
Our students do not have opportunities to participate in many activities outside of school. Yet this group of students have the opportunity to do what many people dream of doing, running a marathon. Even though they are a team, they do not look like one because there are no funds for a uniform. Regardless, they run around training after school, around their community with pride.
My Project
With new running t-shirts, students will look and feel like their part of something and will not feel left out. They look around and see how the soccer team, the baseball team and football team have uniforms and they do not. With these shirts, they will run in their community while they train with their head held up high. People will know they are training for a marathon and they will get congratulated just like a basketball player and a soccer player would. They will have their names on the new shirts and run like wind!
With your donations, my students will finally feel that they are part of something bigger than what they started.
The Marathon team is a family and with this they will run with pride. It is not easy train to for a marathon, especially with all the problems our students face living in an urban community, they tend to drop out. With your donation, it makes it easier to stay. Help us make them feel that they belong.
