Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our students are amazing. They come from a variety of different economic backgrounds with over 60% of our students receiving free lunch. Our school is also one of the most ethnically diverse schools in Los Angeles. Students speak a multitude of languages including English and Spanish. As diverse as our students are economically and culturally, they are diverse in their academics. We are also home to a STEAM program where our students conduct research and participate in a Science Explorers Academy. There are a multitude of teams and clubs that fit the needs of everyone.

My Project

Students will be able to perform to their best ability with the right equipment. When athletes spend time outside in these distant learning times, a canopy will provide them with shade to keep them out of the sun for long periods of time. These days so many students are staying inside and we are now encouraging them to go on more runs and workout independently. With this canopy students can make the best out of the work out. With your help we will see our athletes continue to accomplish their goals.
