My students have special needs that range from intellectual disabilities to speech and language impairments and autism. They are a sweet group of kids who come to school every day eager to learn. They come from all across the district, as my school hosts the only program in the district for their educational needs.
They have a hard time sitting and need to be actively engaged in hands-on learning due to ADHD, autism and other developmental delays.
My students do not let their disabilities hold them back from anything! They love to learn and love coming to school.
My Project
My students need more snacks to eat in the classroom. These snacks include chips, crackers, rice krispy treats, and slim jims. We eat an early lunch and by the end of the day my students are very hungry. Some of the students bring a snack every day and some students do not. These snacks will ensure that none of my students go hungry and they are able to complete their work without having to worry about being hungry. Have you ever tried to focus on something and couldn't because your stomach kept growling? Imagine how my students feel when they are trying their best to focus and can't because they need a snack. These snacks will fill their bellies and fuel their minds!
